Adobe MAX is absolutely, the best des/dev conference of the year.
Bill Cullifer will be there. Look for this to be another milestone event in the professional certification movement. As you may know, Bill has been working on behalf of web professionals for the last 10-15 years to connect the dots between students, schools, government, professionals, aspiring professionals and employers.
His efforts to bring the rockstars of the web together under one association are boosting professionalism in the industry.
So what’s that mean? It means that soon, the des/dev curriculums they’ll be teaching in schools will actually mean something and help provide employers with new hires that don’t have to be completely retrained just because they got a CS degree. Professional certifications also help separate myspace hacks from css and photoshop/flash/print design gurus and yes, one day soon, your Mom will really understand what you do for a living.
Bill will be holding a professional web design contest, vetting the professional certification process and documenting it all at wowtechminute.com in both SF and Milan.
Adobe MAX will set the stage.
TechCrunch has a nice post of what to expect at Adobe MAX 2008.
